Appropriately named "The Jewel" in Spanish, La Jolla boasts some of Southern California's most beautiful coastlines, award-winning restaurants, and luxurious real estate.
For over 100 years, La Jolla has been a favorite vacation destination due to the beautiful weather, abundance of hotels and restaurants, shopping, events, and much more. So whether you like to invest in your bank account - or invest in your closet (the best investment you can make amiright ladies?!?) - La Jolla has something to offer for every individual who finds themselves lucky enough to live in America's Jewel.
Below we've broken down why La Jolla earned its name - and why it offers a little something for everyone.
For the Health & Fitness Buffs:
Nestled in the heart of the village are 9 fitness centers; La Jolla Sports Club, Balance Fitness Studio, Orangetheory Fitness La Jolla, Pilates Plus La Jolla, La Jolla Athletic Club, 24 Hour Fitness, High Voltage Fitness La Jolla, La Jolla Health & Fitness Club, and The Perfect Workout. And, only a few minute drive south - Bird Rock Fit in Beach Barber Tract, and Studio Barre in Bird Rock. All with their own unique offering, there is a fitness home for every gym junkie.
If you're looking for a post-workout healthy snack, Lean and Green (right next door to La Jolla Sports Club) is an all organic, health food lunch spot (with vegetarian options!!) that's sure to make your taste buds happy. Pro Tip: Try the Skinny Monkey protein shake. This is gluten free and jam-packed with soy milk, peanut butter, bananas, chocolate, and whey protein. And for my green-lovin' friends, the Tropikale smoothie is a gluten free, vegetarian option with OJ, kale, spinach, strawberries, & bananas - so you can "tropic like it's hot" after your workout!
Another organic snack stop for your post workout gains, is Beaming located on Girard Ave. If your looking for an extra metabolism boost, try the Bootie Burn smoothie - a fat burning smoothie packed with grapefruit, pineapple, coconut nectar, alkaline water, and chili flakes. And if you're looking to add a little spice to your day, the Sexy Mayan smoothie is the perfect energy & libido boosting snack that's packed with protein, freshly sprouted almond milk raw cacao, banana, date, maca powder, cayenne, cinnamon, & nutmeg.

Segway tours, biking, kayaking, snorkeling, surfing...you name it and La Jolla has it! One of our personal favorites is just a 15 minute drive north to Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. There are six trails you can take - all with stunning panoramic ocean views. Pro tip: the Beach Trail is our favorite! It's a 3/4 mile trail with a rustic path that descends 300 feet to the beach.

If you're a theater buff or just looking for a good date night idea, the La Jolla Playhouse is the perfect place for you!
